This role is responsible for leading MLCC/ inductor/ Embedded substrate strategic sourcing and commercial management, driving cost optimization, ensuring supply continuity, and owning end-to-end supplier strategy. The role requires strong leadership, program management, and cross-functional influence to align business, engineering, and supply chain objectives while driving long-term value creation.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead commercial negotiations including pricing, LTAs, capacity agreements, price adjustments, and payment terms for MLCC/inductors/ Embedded substrates.
• Own supplier strategy for MLCC/ inductor/ Embedded substrate commodities, acting as a key decision driver in supplier selection and allocation.
• Drive cost optimization initiatives using structured methodologies such as cost breakdown analysis, should-cost modeling, and localization strategies.
• Lead cross-functional engagement with Engineering and Product Groups to ensure component readiness and alignment across NPI, ramp-up, and lifecycle management.
• Ensure supply continuity and resilience by proactively managing capacity planning, allocation strategies, and long-term supply assurance with key component suppliers.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate supply chain risks including capacity constraints, geopolitical exposure, cost volatility, and supplier dependency within the passive/component supply base.
• Lead contract governance including MSA, NDA, pricing frameworks, and commercial agreements, ensuring alignment with business strategy.
• Drive supplier performance management through structured reviews, KPI tracking, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Lead escalation of management and resolution of critical issues related to quality, delivery, capacity, and commercial disputes.
• Act as a strategic interface between internal functions (Engineering, Product Group, Supply Chain, and Finance teams) and MLCC / inductor / substrate suppliers to ensure alignment on roadmap, cost, and execution priorities.
Qualifications
• 10+ years of purchasing/procurement experience, preferably in the semiconductor or electronics industry.
• Fluent in English is required; Japanese language proficiency is a plus.
• Hands-on experience or strong familiarity with passive components (MLCC/ inductors/ Embedded substrate) is a strong advantage.
• Advanced Excel and data analysis skills; proficient in PowerPoint for executive-level presentations.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
• Experience in strategic sourcing, supplier management, or program management is highly preferred.
