About the Role
This role leads mechanical engineering efforts across water and wastewater projects, driving design excellence, mentoring teams, and ensuring technical accuracy in system planning and implementation.
Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical design for water treatment and pumping facilities
- Oversee engineering calculations and system specifications
- Ensure compliance with industry codes and safety standards
- Collaborate with civil, electrical, and structural engineers
- Manage technical aspects of project delivery
- Review design documentation for accuracy and completeness
- Support procurement and construction phases
- Mentor junior engineering staff
- Develop innovative solutions for water conveyance systems
- Coordinate with clients and regulatory agencies
- Prepare technical reports and design criteria
- Conduct feasibility studies for water infrastructure
- Lead value engineering and risk assessment efforts
- Ensure integration of mechanical systems with overall project goals
- Guide selection of pumps, valves, and associated equipment
- Support sustainable design practices and energy efficiency
- Troubleshoot mechanical system challenges during construction
- Participate in project planning and scheduling
- Review contractor submittals and shop drawings
- Maintain quality control throughout project lifecycle
