About the Role
This position involves leading hydrologic studies and modeling efforts for complex water resources projects, providing technical direction, and supporting sustainable water management solutions.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of hydrologic models for watershed and stormwater systems
- Oversee data collection and analysis for surface and groundwater systems
- Design and manage flood risk assessment studies
- Support environmental compliance and permitting for water-related projects
- Guide the preparation of technical reports and engineering documentation
- Collaborate with engineers and environmental scientists on integrated project teams
- Conduct statistical analysis of precipitation and streamflow data
- Evaluate impacts of climate variability on water resources
- Provide technical leadership on large-scale infrastructure projects
- Ensure modeling accuracy and adherence to scientific standards
- Lead field investigations and site assessments
- Develop hydrologic designs for drainage and flood control systems
- Review project deliverables for technical quality and consistency
- Mentor junior staff in hydrologic methods and software tools
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies on water resource issues
- Support project proposals and scope development
- Apply GIS tools to spatial hydrology analysis
- Integrate remote sensing data into hydrologic assessments
- Assess watershed response to land use changes
- Manage project timelines and technical budgets
- Promote innovative approaches to water sustainability
- Ensure alignment with federal, state, and local water regulations
- Contribute to interdisciplinary environmental impact studies
- Lead peer reviews of hydrologic and hydraulic analyses
- Support emergency response planning for extreme weather events
