About the Role
This role involves leading hydrologic studies, mentoring technical staff, and delivering science-based solutions for water infrastructure, environmental compliance, and climate resilience projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and execution of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling projects
- Conduct stormwater management and flood risk assessments
- Prepare technical reports and analyses for regulatory submissions
- Support environmental impact studies and permitting efforts
- Collaborate with engineers, scientists, and planners on integrated projects
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to team technical development
- Apply industry-standard software for watershed and river system modeling
- Evaluate climate change impacts on water resources
- Develop water balance and runoff models for urban and rural areas
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local water regulations
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and client communications
- Perform field data collection and site assessments when necessary
- Support dam safety and floodplain management initiatives
- Participate in peer reviews of hydrologic studies
- Integrate GIS tools into hydrologic analysis workflows
- Present findings to clients, agencies, and stakeholders
- Contribute to proposal development and business growth efforts
- Stay current with evolving hydrology practices and technologies
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies during review processes
- Apply statistical methods to analyze precipitation and streamflow data
- Support sustainable water resource planning and policy development
- Evaluate groundwater-surface water interactions
- Assess watershed health and restoration opportunities
- Develop best management practices for erosion and sediment control
- Use remote sensing data to enhance hydrologic assessments
