Western Digital is seeking a Principal Engineer in Test Engineering to join our dynamic team. You will bring deep expertise in storage interoperability validation, implementation, and management, with a strong foundation in networking protocols. Your work will focus on storage subsystems related to NVMe, NVMeOF, TCP, and RoCE, driving quality and innovation forward.
What You'll Do
- Lead storage QA validation activities for firmware and storage subsystems, including automation.
- Validate Storage Servers, Storage Arrays – JBOD, JBOFs, NAS, and SAN.
- Apply in-depth knowledge of SAS, SCSI, and PCIe protocols, including trace analysis for SAS, Ethernet, and PCIe.
- Utilize experience with Secure Boot and Secure Firmware Download.
- Install and configure various hardware and software components.
- Perform bug verification and drive issues to resolution.
- Troubleshoot issues within Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Understand hardware and software interaction.
What We're Looking For
- B.S. and/or Masters in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
- Substantial industry experience in Storage, Networking, and Server domains.
- Expertise in storage QA validation and automation.
- In-depth knowledge of SAS, SCSI, and PCIe protocols.
- Solid working knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Understanding of hardware and software interaction.
Nice to Have
- White box testing knowledge.
- Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Experience with Data in Flight Encryption: IPsec (in Transport and Tunnel mode) and Transport Layer Security (TLS) 1.3.
- Working knowledge of SSD and debugging skills.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to achieve results in a fast-moving, dynamic environment.
