Responsibilities
- Establish and lead the performance engineering vision for applications running on Google Cloud Platform
- Act as the primary technical authority on application performance, system scalability, and observability in distributed environments
- Evaluate and enhance performance across microservices, APIs, database layers, and high-throughput transaction processing
- Detect and eliminate performance constraints affecting end-user experience, particularly in patient data access, historical record loading, and real-time clinical operations
- Plan, conduct, and manage performance, load, stress, endurance, and scalability testing using leading industry tools
- Use statistical methods and performance data to detect patterns, predict system behavior, and deliver data-driven recommendations
- Work closely with software development, architecture, DevOps, SRE, database, and infrastructure teams to implement performance enhancements
- Lead and develop a team of 4 to 5 Performance Engineers, setting technical standards, best practices, and continuous learning initiatives
- Advance automated performance testing and integrate it into CI/CD workflows
- Communicate performance evaluations, risks, capacity forecasts, and optimization plans to technical and executive leadership
- Promote a culture of performance excellence throughout the software development lifecycle
