Responsibilities
- Lead practical execution of environmental and reliability testing programs aligned with MIL-STD-810, RTCA/DO-160, and defense-specific requirements, including vibration, shock, thermal cycling, altitude, humidity, and multi-stress conditions
- Act as the main technical point of contact for defense and aerospace clients from initial inquiry through test completion and final reporting
- Create, assess, and finalize test plans, protocols, and reports that meet documentation expectations of prime contractors and government agencies
- Expand lab capabilities into HALT/HASS, reliability life testing, and other MIL-standard services in response to defense sector needs
- Supervise and personally conduct commercial environmental and reliability tests across climatic, mechanical, and dynamic domains using IEC, ASTM, and equivalent standards
- Strengthen and maintain relationships with commercial clients while managing a defense-focused portfolio
- Manage request-for-quote processes, cost estimation, test scheduling, and timely delivery across the full scope of the lab’s service offerings
- Directly supervise lab engineers and technicians, including daily tasking, workforce planning, professional development, and performance evaluation
- Establish and uphold technical excellence and lab culture through consistent, hands-on involvement
- Ensure compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation, lead internal audits, and manage calibration and equipment maintenance programs
- Lead capital expenditure planning and define equipment strategy to support technical growth and operational stability
- Partner with Eurofins laboratories nationwide to deliver comprehensive testing solutions and exchange technical knowledge
- Support business development by contributing to proposals, attending customer meetings, and engaging in defense program acquisition efforts with sales teams
- Develop connections with prime contractors, Tier 1 suppliers, and government program offices in the Mid-Atlantic defense region
- Represent the organization at industry conferences, exhibitions, and technical forums related to defense and reliability testing

- This is a bench-present role – the candidate is expected to be in the lab every day running tests, reviewing data, setting procedures, and leading by technical example
- The lab operates within a coast-to-coast defense testing network (Baltimore + Santa Clara)
- Active ITAR/EAR compliance
- CMMC Level 1 (Level 2 in progress)
- ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation including MIL-scope testing
- Direct access to sales leadership and influence over the lab's strategic direction, capability roadmap, and customer relationships
