Responsibilities
- Support leadership in delivering major high-voltage cable system projects from initial concept through to final completion, maintaining high standards in safety, quality, and technical innovation.
- Create and supervise designs for high-voltage cable systems, covering route planning, burial risk analysis, and modeling of thermal, electromagnetic, and mechanical behavior.
- Deliver expert guidance on cable system capacity, installation techniques, joint configurations, cleat design, and integration in demanding operational environments.
- Review and validate advanced engineering calculations such as current-carrying capacity, short-circuit stresses, electromagnetic compatibility, induced voltages, and thermomechanical effects to ensure compliance with National Grid Technical Prospects, IEC, and CIGRÉ standards.
- Engage with clients and key stakeholders to provide technical confidence, strategic insight, and cost-optimized solutions for prominent infrastructure initiatives.
- Coordinate across engineering disciplines—civil, structural, overhead line, substation, and marine—to deliver unified and integrated design outcomes.
- Lead project execution by managing technical risks, design interfaces, and quality assurance processes, while supporting procurement, construction, and commissioning stages.
- Perform third-party inspection duties, including factory and site acceptance testing oversight and vendor performance monitoring for cables and related equipment.
- Promote team development through mentorship, knowledge transfer, and technical training to strengthen engineering capabilities in cable systems.
- Contribute to business growth through participation in proposal development, bid evaluations, and client-facing presentations.
