Roman Catholic Bishop of San Diego / Notre Dame Academy is hiring a Primary Teacher

St. Kieran Catholic School, part of the Roman Catholic Bishop of San Diego / Notre Dame Academy, seeks a qualified and passionate Primary Teacher for either first or second grade. This is a full-time, onsite role at our parish school in El Cajon, California, for an educator deeply committed to developing Christ-centered, forward-thinking leaders.

What You'll Do

• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned to Common Core, California State, and Diocese of San Diego Religion standards.
• Establish a positive classroom culture and maintain strong classroom management.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
• Collect and analyze data to inform and adjust your teaching practices.
• Use technology skillfully to accomplish learning goals and increase student engagement.
• Evaluate student academic and social growth, maintain records, and prepare progress reports.
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress.
• Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and improve school-wide instruction.
• Participate actively in ongoing professional development.
• Maintain timely communication by returning voice-mail and e-mail messages promptly.
• Keep a neat and orderly classroom environment.
• Demonstrate a respectful demeanor with staff, students, and parents.
• Observe strict confidentiality regarding parent, student, and staff information.
• Supervise students in assigned areas, including playground duty.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

• An active, practicing Roman Catholic.
• A Bachelor’s Degree.
• A clear criminal background check; a cleared Livescan for the Diocese of San Diego is a condition of employment.
• Experience teaching in an elementary school classroom.
• Positive professional references and recommendations.

Nice to Have

• Basic Catechetical Certification.
• A cleared California multiple subject teaching credential.

Benefits & Compensation

• Salary range: $52,000 - $53,000 per year.

This is an onsite position located at 1347 Camillo Way, El Cajon, CA 92021.
