Advantage Care Health Centers is hiring a Primary Care Physician

Responsibilities

  • Deliver direct primary medical care to pediatric and adult patients.
  • Evaluate and manage patients within the health center according to licensing, training, and credentialing.
  • Collaborate with the chief medical officer, administrative management, practice manager, clinical nurse manager, and medical team to support patient care.
  • Diagnose and treat a range of diseases and injuries typical in general practice.
  • Use independent judgment in assessing, diagnosing, and initiating medical procedures or treatments.
  • Examine patients using medical instruments and equipment.
  • Order or perform various tests and diagnostic imaging to gather information on patient conditions.
  • Analyze test and examination reports and findings to diagnose conditions.
  • Administer or prescribe treatments and medications.
  • Vaccinate patients to protect against communicable diseases.
  • Advise patients on diet, hygiene, and disease prevention methods.
  • Educate patients and families about planned diagnostic procedures, medications, and treatments.
  • Assess and analyze patient responses to disease processes or therapeutic and diagnostic interventions.
  • Promote timely and compassionate communication between families and the healthcare team.
  • Refer patients to medical specialists or other practitioners for specialized treatment when necessary.
  • Report births, deaths, and outbreaks of contagious diseases to governmental authorities as required.
  • Conduct physical examinations for school admission, job consideration, camp participation, or insurance eligibility as needed.
  • Maintain current and complete documentation in medical records that accurately reflects care and services provided.
  • Accurately assign Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) codes and ICD diagnosis codes.
  • Participate in the clinical experience of medical students, interns, residents, and graduate nurses as appropriate.
  • Engage in health center peer review and other review activities.
  • Stay informed about current clinical industry standards for the specialty and incorporate them into the health center's practice standards.
  • Update practice through continuing education by attending conferences, rounds, reports, lectures, journal clubs, and regional or national professional conferences.
  • Serve on healthcare facility committees as required, such as Quality Assurance, Infection Control, and Complaints Committee.
  • Ensure adherence to all applicable program statutes, regulations, and appropriate insurance billing practices.
