Responsibilities
- Operate, set up, and maintain gravure or multi-color offset printing presses for jobs requiring precise color matching and registration, including solid fills, screen tints, line work, and halftones
- Analyze job orders to determine proper press configuration based on sheet layout, whether sheet-wise or work-and-turn imposition
- Complete all required make-ready procedures, including mounting plates or cylinders, inspecting for defects, verifying image placement, preparing blankets, and adjusting tension and alignment
- Adjust press settings and ink levels before and during runs to ensure printed output meets quality standards for color accuracy and registration
- Perform routine cleaning, lubrication, and upkeep of press equipment, including minor repairs and replacement of damaged or worn components
- Follow manufacturer guidelines for scheduled preventive maintenance tasks
