About the Role

This position is responsible for guiding a team of survey professionals, managing key client accounts, and driving business growth through strategic leadership and operational excellence in land surveying services.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of strategic goals for the survey practice
  • Supervise survey teams across multiple offices and projects
  • Ensure all survey work meets technical, legal, and quality standards
  • Mentor and develop survey staff through performance feedback and career planning
  • Collaborate with other practice leaders to integrate survey services into multidisciplinary projects
  • Oversee the preparation of survey deliverables including boundary, topographic, and construction surveys
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for major clients
  • Develop and maintain client relationships to support repeat business
  • Review project scopes, schedules, and budgets for survey components
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal surveying regulations
  • Promote the use of current surveying technologies and methodologies
  • Support business development through proposals, presentations, and client meetings
  • Identify opportunities to expand service offerings and market reach
  • Manage resource allocation and staffing for survey projects
  • Maintain awareness of industry trends and licensing requirements
  • Foster a culture of safety, precision, and professionalism
  • Coordinate with legal and title professionals on property matters
  • Oversee the use of survey equipment and technology maintenance
  • Ensure proper documentation and archiving of survey records
  • Represent the firm at professional and industry events
  • Support onboarding and training of new survey personnel
  • Evaluate and recommend improvements to survey workflows
  • Assist in resolving complex boundary or easement disputes
  • Promote adherence to ethical standards in all surveying activities
  • Ensure consistency in survey practices across geographic regions
