Responsibilities
- Supporting the day-to-day delivery and management of PR accounts, ensuring activity is delivered to a high standard and to deadline.
- Researching, writing and distributing press releases, features, case studies, pitches and other compelling content.
- Proactively identifying opportunities for client coverage and finding creative ways to bring their stories to life across relevant media.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with journalists, media contacts, influencers and industry contacts.
- Developing targeted media lists and managing press release distribution through Roxhill and other relevant platforms.
- Handling incoming media and trade enquiries and ensuring opportunities are followed up promptly.
- Selling in stories and features, briefing journalists and supporting interviews, media meetings and presentations.
- Supporting the organisation and delivery of press trips, trade shows, client events, journalist meetings and other PR activity.
- Monitoring media coverage, social channels and industry conversations to identify opportunities, trends and relevant journalist or influencer activity.
- Supporting client meetings, presentations, campaign reporting and evaluation, ensuring clients are kept informed of activity and results.
- Conducting research to inform client work, creative ideas, pitches and ongoing campaign development.
- Creating and maintaining accurate records of media contacts, coverage, client content and imagery.
- Developing a strong understanding of each client’s business, objectives and competitive landscape, using this knowledge to identify new PR opportunities.
- Representing MMGY Grifco PR and our clients at relevant industry, media and client events, including occasional activity outside standard office hours.
Requirements
- At least 6-9 months’ experience in PR at Senior Account Executive level, or equivalent experience in a similar communications role.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce engaging, accurate and concise copy.
- A genuine interest in media, current affairs, travel, luxury and lifestyle.
- Strong media relations skills and an understanding of what makes a story relevant and compelling to journalists.
- The creativity and commercial awareness to identify opportunities beyond traditional press releases and standard PR activity.
- The ability to manage your own workload, prioritise effectively and work to deadlines.
- Confidence communicating with clients, journalists and colleagues at different levels.
- A proactive approach, with the initiative to identify potential issues and opportunities and take action.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office and relevant PR, database and media monitoring tools.
