Centre for Strategic Infocomm Technologies is hiring a Platform Engineer - Testing Platform

We are looking for a passionate and driven Platform Engineer to help us design and build our next-generation on-premise testing platform, enabling the organisation to stay ahead of emerging cyber threats. In this role, you will work with a team to develop scalable services that provide developers and testers with on-demand access to a wide range of physical and virtual devices for testing purposes. You will contribute to designing and developing key components of the platform, including device orchestration, automated testing workflows, and underlying virtualisation infrastructure. We welcome applications from both experienced engineers and fresh graduates who have a strong foundational understanding of platforms, systems, or infrastructure, and who are excited to grow and deepen their expertise. Responsibilities • Design and develop core components of an on-premise testing platform, including device management, automated test execution, and results processing. • Implement scalable services that support diverse device types, architectures, and environments, ensuring reliability, availability, and security. • Deploy, manage, and optimise virtualisation infrastructure (e.g., VMware, Proxmox, Nutanix Virtualisation) to support elastic testing workloads. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g. Network Engineering, Security, Software Engineering) to integrate platform services into the wider ecosystem. • Contribute to technical documentation, such as design specifications, architecture diagrams, and operational guides. • Support system monitoring, troubleshooting, and platform improvements to enhance performance and user experience. Requirements (Minimum Qualifications) • Background in Engineering or Computer Science. • Foundational knowledge of virtualisation technologies such as VMWare, Proxmox, and Nutanix is required; hands-on experience is a plus. • Proficient in at least one scripting or programming language (preferably Python), and familiarity with automation or Infrastructure-as-Code tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform) is a plus. • Understanding of basic software testing concepts (functional, regression, performance). • Strong problem-solving skills with an eagerness to design, build, and improve systems. • Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical teams. Nice-to-haves • Experience in platform, DevOps, or distributed systems projects, gained through real-world work, school projects, internships, or personal creations that showcase your passion. As CSIT is an agency under the Ministry of Defence (Singapore), only Singapore Citizens will be considered.
