Responsibilities
- Manage the self-service capabilities for data storage, including architecture, provisioning, access controls, and lifecycle management for large-scale, multimodal biological data.
- Develop internal platform services that simplify complex workflows, enabling autonomous data access and processing without requiring support tickets.
- Work with object storage systems like S3 and modern data formats such as Parquet, Delta, and Iceberg to build efficient, reproducible data pipelines.
- Enhance infrastructure-as-code frameworks and CI/CD pipelines using tools like Terraform to ensure consistent, automated deployment of the data platform.
- Integrate security best practices into data infrastructure by implementing access controls, data classification, and least-privilege principles directly in code.
- Collaborate with the platform team to determine which tools and systems should become standardized platform offerings versus experimental projects.
