About the Role

CVS Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support our pharmacy team in delivering operational and service excellence within a retail store setting. You will be a critical point of contact for patients, ensuring prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately while contributing to a safe, inclusive culture.

What You'll Do

  • Follow all company Standard Operating Procedures at each workstation to help Pharmacists manage and improve patient health.
  • Execute pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation (production, pick-up, drive-thru, drop-off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
  • Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care at pick-up, drive-thru, and over the phone.
  • Complete basic inventory activities as directed, such as putting away medication deliveries, cycle counts, and returns-to-stock.
  • Contribute to a high-performing team, embracing a growth mindset and seeking opportunities to expand clinical and technical knowledge.
  • Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, including voluntarily traveling to stores in the market to work shifts as needed.
  • Understand and comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles.
  • Deliver additional patient health care services (e.g., immunizations, point-of-care testing) where allowable by law and with required training.
  • Support immunizations by completing licensure/training for Technician Immunizer status, educating patients, monitoring for adverse reactions, and managing vaccine supplies.

What We're Looking For

  • Compliance with state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing pharmacy practice, including age, education, and licensure/certification.
  • If state board does not mandate a minimum age, must be at least 16 years of age.
  • If state board does not mandate a minimum educational requirement, must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled.
  • Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
  • Ability to complete required training within a designated timeframe.
  • Attention and focus: ability to concentrate on a task, pivot quickly between tasks, and confirm prescription information and label accuracy.
  • Customer service and team orientation: actively look for ways to help people in a friendly manner and respond appropriately to patients' reactions.
  • Communication skills: use and understand verbal and written communication; utilize active listening.
  • Mathematical reasoning: ability to use math to solve problems (e.g., determining tablets to dispense, day's supply).
  • Problem resolution: identify challenging interactions and choose the best course of action.
  • Physical demands: be mobile and upright for extended periods; lift, scan, and bag items; reach overhead; repetitive finger movements; extend arms; control precision; stoop; close visual acuity; lift up to 20 lbs occasionally; express and receive detailed information orally.

Nice to Have

  • 1-3 years previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
  • Ability to work in the home store and across the market in other locations to meet business needs.

Team & Environment

You will be part of the pharmacy team, reporting to the Pharmacy Manager/Supervisor.
