Responsibilities
- Design and execute performance, load, stress, and soak testing across .NET Core microservices, React and React Native frontends, SQL Server and Cosmos DB queries, and messaging platforms.
- Analyze system behavior using profiling tools such as Perfview, dotTrace, Azure Monitor, and browser developer tools to detect bottlenecks in CPU, memory, I/O, network, and database resources.
- Propose and verify performance improvements at the code level—including async programming, caching, and batching—as well as database optimizations like query refinement, indexing, and partitioning, and infrastructure adjustments such as resource caps and autoscaling.
- Establish and track performance budgets, service level objectives and indicators, and capacity forecasts for key services, issuing alerts when thresholds are approached or exceeded.
- Collaborate with Kubernetes and AKS teams to evaluate resource allocation, autoscaling configurations, and the performance impact of deployment changes.
- Develop and manage dashboards for performance monitoring, integrating data from tools like Application Insights and Prometheus to visualize system metrics.
- Create and maintain documentation on performance best practices, common anti-patterns, and decision-making frameworks to support engineering teams.
