About the Role
The Peer Supervisor will oversee peer support staff, ensuring high-quality delivery of services rooted in personal recovery experience. This role involves mentoring, performance evaluation, training coordination, and maintaining compliance with program standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise peer support specialists providing recovery-focused services
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback
- Develop and deliver training programs for peer staff on recovery principles and best practices
- Model effective peer support techniques grounded in lived experience
- Ensure adherence to clinical and ethical guidelines across peer services
- Collaborate with clinical teams to integrate peer support into care plans
- Track and report outcomes related to peer program effectiveness
- Support peer staff in maintaining personal wellness and recovery goals
- Facilitate team meetings and promote a culture of mutual support
- Assist in onboarding and orienting new peer specialists
- Monitor documentation accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards
- Advocate for peer-driven approaches within the broader care model
- Coordinate professional development opportunities for team members
- Address performance issues with timely and respectful interventions
- Promote equity and cultural responsiveness in peer service delivery
- Serve as a liaison between peer staff and clinical leadership
- Maintain current knowledge of recovery-oriented practices and policies
- Support crisis prevention strategies using peer-led methods
- Encourage active participation in recovery communities
- Uphold confidentiality and professional boundaries
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives
- Participate in program evaluations and audits
- Foster an environment of trust, respect, and empowerment
- Ensure consistent application of peer support principles across settings
- Support data collection for performance measurement
Nice to Have
- Master’s degree in counseling, social work, or related discipline
- Supervision certification in peer support services
- Experience with digital health platforms
- Training in motivational interviewing
- Bilingual proficiency in English and another language
- Leadership experience in peer-run organizations
- Published work or presentations on peer support topics
- Experience in crisis response programs
- Knowledge of Medicaid billing requirements for peer services
- Facilitation experience in group settings
