AECOM is hiring an Overhead Contact Lines Junior Designer

About the Role

This role supports the design and development of overhead contact systems for rail and mass transit projects, working under the guidance of senior engineers to produce detailed engineering deliverables.

Responsibilities

  • Produce design drawings and schematics for overhead contact line systems
  • Assist in developing technical specifications and documentation
  • Collaborate with engineering teams on design solutions
  • Perform calculations for system clearances and structural loading
  • Support field survey data integration into design plans
  • Use CAD and BIM software to generate models and layouts
  • Review design outputs for compliance with industry standards
  • Participate in design coordination meetings
  • Help prepare construction-level design packages
  • Contribute to safety and reliability assessments
  • Support project scheduling and milestone tracking
  • Assist in resolving design discrepancies
  • Work with electrical and civil disciplines to align system requirements
  • Update drawings based on feedback and revisions
  • Maintain accurate design records and version control
  • Apply engineering principles to real-world transit applications
  • Follow established design workflows and quality procedures
  • Conduct routine checks on design consistency
  • Assist in permitting and regulatory submittals
  • Support as-built documentation updates
  • Engage in continuous improvement of design processes
  • Use project management tools to track task progress
  • Communicate technical details with team members
  • Adhere to project-specific design criteria
  • Contribute to team efforts on complex infrastructure programs
