MD Anderson Cancer Center is looking for an Outpatient Clinical Nurse to coordinate and deliver patient-centered, evidence-based care across the continuum in Diagnostic Imaging. This role works as part of an inter-professional team, advocates for patients and families, and supports staff development to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
What You'll Do
- Deliver quality, cost-effective patient care using available resources responsibly.
- Anticipate patient and family needs in collaboration with nursing leadership.
- Participate in unit change initiatives and support a positive team culture.
- Apply new evidence and comply with regulatory standards.
- Utilize imaging technology and contribute to process improvement.
- Provide input for performance evaluations of staff and promote accountability.
- Demonstrate effective communication, collaboration, and conflict resolution.
- Support a culture of innovation, professional growth, and strong patient outcomes.
- Build collaborative relationships across the unit and department.
- Deliver evidence-based care aligned with the Texas Nurse Practice Act and MD Anderson standards.
- Provide systematic, outcome-driven care with measurable improvements.
- Maintain ethical practice, compassion, and clinical competence.
- Engage in lifelong learning and professional development.
- Contribute to the assessment and analysis of clinical and quality metrics.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support department and institutional goals.
What We're Looking For
- Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing.
- RN - Registered Nurse - Current State of Texas Professional Nursing license.
- BLS - Basic Life Support or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
- All clinical nurses with less than one year of registered nurse (RN) work experience will be required to participate in the Clinical Nurse Residency Program.
Nice to Have
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
- OCN - Oncology Nurse Certification or certification in a specialty practice area.
