About the Role
The role involves supporting Oracle database operations with a focus on writing and tuning SQL and PL-SQL code, troubleshooting performance issues, and working closely with development teams to implement efficient data solutions.
Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize SQL and PL-SQL queries for performance and scalability
- Analyze database structures and recommend improvements for efficiency
- Collaborate with application teams to integrate database solutions
- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in production environments
- Support data migration and transformation initiatives
- Maintain database documentation and version control practices
- Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies
- Assist in designing physical and logical database models
- Ensure data consistency, integrity, and security across systems
- Participate in code reviews and peer validation processes
- Implement stored procedures, functions, and triggers using PL-SQL
- Work with indexing strategies and query execution plans
- Support testing cycles including unit, integration, and performance testing
- Respond to alerts and incidents related to database operations
- Assist in backup, recovery, and disaster preparedness planning
- Stay current with Oracle database features and best practices
- Produce technical specifications from business requirements
- Validate data accuracy during ETL processes
- Optimize database objects to meet application demands
- Coordinate with infrastructure teams on deployment configurations
