Responsibilities
- Embody HI's values, serve as a role model, guide the team by translating strategy into operational objectives, encourage innovation and risk-taking, organize team work, manage performance, solve problems, develop team skills, ensure commitment and professionalism, and enforce the code of conduct.
- Contribute to developing and implementing the program operational strategy, steer operational aspects of the StratOp, monitor it annually with project data, implement crisis/emergency frameworks, participate in steering committees, recruit project managers, develop donor relations, identify funding opportunities, design new projects, manage local partnerships, and support organizational transformation.
- Ensure deployment and compliance with HI global frameworks, institutional policies, and standards including mandatory reference frameworks, Projects Quality Policy, and all institutional policies on security, code of conduct, safeguarding, anti-fraud, and delegation thresholds.
- Manage and monitor projects, apply HI quality standards, ensure donor rule compliance, consolidate and report operational information, deploy monitoring tools, manage expenditure per delegation, facilitate audits, monitor risks and opportunities, develop external influence, represent HI to authorities and bodies, coordinate teams, support security monitoring, and update security plans.
- Lead emergency preparedness actions in the department, reorganize team priorities during emergencies to ensure quick and efficient response by HI.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional experience in operation, field, or project management in challenging humanitarian contexts
- Experience working in complex and conflict-affected regions
- Proven experience in influencing and advocacy initiatives related to disability-inclusion
- Experience in donor relations, external relations, fundraising, and strategic positioning
- Knowledge of how to design and coordinate complex emergency interventions
- Strong and solid management and communication skills
- Fluent in English
- Strong organizational skills, autonomous and reactive
- Willing to travel frequently and work in remote, insecure areas
