UBQ Materials is a company that converts mixed household waste into a climate-positive material called UBQ™, which serves as an alternative to oil-based plastics. The company was founded in 2012 with the vision of turning waste into a valuable resource, addressing one of the world’s greatest environmental challenges.
Through a patented process, UBQ transforms unsorted household waste—including organics and hard-to-recycle materials—into a sustainable thermoplastic substitute. This material matches conventional plastics in price and quality, while being entirely free of oil and ready for commercial-scale production.
The company opened its first full-scale production facility in Bergen op Zoom, Netherlands, in 2024, while its original site in Israel operates as an R&D center. UBQ is adopted by global brands across industries such as automotive, retail, and construction, helping them reduce their carbon footprint.
