GeeksOnSite is looking for an On-Call IT Technician to provide critical onsite support for residential and small business clients in the Miami-Fort Lauderdale-West Palm Beach area. In this 1099 independent contractor role, you will diagnose and repair a wide range of IT issues, providing direct solutions to clients in their homes or offices.
What You'll Do
- Diagnose and repair hardware and software issues on Windows and Mac devices.
- Resolve boot errors including black or blue screens, 'Preparing Automatic Repair' loops, and other OS issues.
- Perform full clean-ups and tune-ups for slow or unresponsive computer systems.
- Reset Windows passwords and assist clients with account access problems.
- Troubleshoot and assist with internet connectivity issues for both wired and wireless networks.
- Replace internal hardware components like fans, hard drives, or RAM.
- Reinstall or repair operating systems using USB or disk media.
- Add necessary shortcuts or tools, such as remote support access, as instructed.
- Provide basic training or walkthroughs to clients after service is complete.
- Document service details and escalate complex issues when required.
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in PC and Mac repair and IT support.
- Familiarity with Windows 10 & 11, macOS, and basic BIOS/boot troubleshooting.
- Ability to work with limited instructions and troubleshoot problems independently.
- Must own all necessary tools including bootable USB drives, Windows installation media, and screwdrivers.
- Reliable personal vehicle and a valid driver’s license.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Comfort working directly with clients in residential or office settings.
