Responsibilities
- Offer strategic support for policy, legal, and regulatory improvements in energy and non-energy resource sectors.
- Perform technical, operational, and economic evaluations within extractive industries.
- Assist in designing financial frameworks and establishing markets for resource development initiatives.
- Advise on fiscal policy, economic governance, and transparency practices in petroleum industries.
- Evaluate environmental consequences and manage community and social considerations tied to resource projects.
- Deliver technical training and capacity building on resource fundamentals and emerging extraction technologies.
- Support the financial oversight of oil and gas revenue streams.
- Provide counsel on international legal standards and regulatory best practices.
- Promote environmental safeguards to protect communities and ecosystems from industry impacts.

- Supply specialized technical knowledge and operational support across exploration, production, processing, transport, and sales functions.
- Design customized, efficient compliance strategies and legal frameworks for oil and gas clients.
- Advise on legal and commercial matters including daily operations, regulatory compliance, litigation, hazardous materials, land conservation, air and water quality, species protection, and occupational safety.
- Guide clients on ownership structures, asset financing, acquisitions, joint ventures, production sharing, tax-advantaged partnerships, operating agreements, leases, farm-out and farm-in arrangements, and drilling contracts.
- Deliver policy support, training, and advisory services on domestic and international oil and gas legal issues, including mergers, financings, public policy, joint operations, exploration, production, intellectual property, litigation, health and safety, field services, and construction.
- Provide integrated legal support across multiple disciplines within the oil and gas sector.
- Offer policy advice on real estate, land use permits, and project siting for oil and gas developments.
- Support asset development through acreage exchanges, joint ventures, joint operations, land acquisition, and leasing.
- Assist management with regulatory compliance across joint ownership, construction, operations, transportation, commercial activities, and legal obligations.
- Lead negotiations with royalty holders, joint venture partners, and suppliers on legal issues, and advise on exploration, drilling, and development plans.
- Support compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
- Draft and negotiate key agreements including joint operating contracts, drilling arrangements, master service contracts, leases, land and surface access agreements, exploration pacts, farm-outs, purchase and sale agreements, confidentiality terms, and E&P-related documents.
- Support high-impact decisions across strategy and operations, including business planning, supply chain, organizational design, and IT systems in the oil and gas industry.
- Assist stakeholders across conventional and unconventional oil and gas, midstream, refining, marketing, oilfield services, equipment manufacturing, environmental compliance, regulation, training, and policy development.
- Build and manage relationships with external partners, government agencies, energy firms, technology providers, and scientific experts to ensure project outcomes are rigorous, practical, and timely.
