About the Role
The Occupational Therapy Assistant will provide virtual therapy sessions for pediatric clients, implement treatment strategies, and maintain accurate documentation in compliance with regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Deliver remote occupational therapy sessions to children of various ages
- Follow individualized treatment plans designed by supervising occupational therapists
- Monitor client progress and report updates to supervising clinicians
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory requirements
- Conduct virtual assessments under therapist guidance
- Collaborate with therapists to adjust interventions based on client needs
- Document client sessions promptly and accurately
- Engage families in therapeutic activities and provide guidance
- Use telehealth platforms effectively for service delivery
- Support development of home exercise programs
- Participate in team meetings and case reviews
- Ensure proper setup and troubleshooting of remote technology
- Adapt activities for virtual environments while maintaining therapeutic goals
- Respond to client and family inquiries in a timely manner
- Maintain professional licensure and continuing education requirements
- Follow ethical standards and professional guidelines
- Coordinate scheduling with clients and caregivers
- Assist in preparing materials for virtual sessions
- Contribute to client progress reports
- Uphold confidentiality in all client interactions
