About the Role
The occupational therapist will provide remote therapeutic services to clients requiring support in daily living skills, using evidence-based practices. Fluency in Spanish and English is required to serve a diverse population effectively.
Responsibilities
- Deliver remote occupational therapy sessions to clients of all ages
- Conduct assessments to identify client needs and functional limitations
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on client goals
- Collaborate with families and caregivers to support therapy outcomes
- Document client progress and update treatment strategies
- Use telehealth platforms to ensure consistent service delivery
- Provide recommendations for adaptive equipment and home modifications
- Support clients with sensory integration challenges
- Assist individuals in improving fine motor and coordination skills
- Address cognitive barriers affecting daily activities
- Monitor client engagement and adjust interventions as needed
- Maintain compliance with privacy and healthcare regulations
- Participate in team meetings and case reviews
- Coordinate care with other healthcare professionals
- Provide education to clients and families on therapeutic techniques
- Ensure culturally responsive practices in service delivery
- Respond to client inquiries in a timely manner
- Manage scheduling and session documentation efficiently
- Stay current with occupational therapy best practices
- Support transitions between home, school, and community settings
- Promote independence in activities of daily living
- Use standardized evaluation tools to measure outcomes
- Adapt communication style for diverse age groups
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical records
- Support clients with developmental delays and neurological conditions
Nice to Have
- Master’s degree in occupational therapy
- NBCOT certification
- Experience in school-based therapy settings
- Specialty training in sensory integration
- Certification in telehealth practice
- Experience with autism spectrum disorders
