Responsibilities
- Review order requests including remarks, questions, directions, or requests for opinion; thoroughly examine medical history including service records and prior exams, which may involve refuting previous medical opinions from earlier examiners.
- Explain the examination process to the veteran and verify the claimed conditions with them.
- Complete appropriate Disability Benefits Questionnaires and Medical Opinions through the Electronic Medical Records System during the exam, and provide necessary documentation to the VA with a full understanding of the veteran's claimed contentions.
- Perform Compensation and Pension exams and, in some cases, order and interpret diagnostic tests such as lab work, spirometry, and ECGs.
- Complete charting and submit the exam within 24 to 48 hours after the examination is finished.
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted State Nurse Practitioner license without limitations.
- Proficiency in navigating EMR platforms, web portals, and standard computer applications.
- Strong clinical analysis, documentation, and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven track record of meeting documentation deadlines.

- Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- This role performs Disability Assessments on Veterans. You will not treat, and you will not prescribe medication in this position.
- This is an in-person position.
