Responsibilities
- Monitor systems, applications, and cloud platforms using observability tools including New Relic, Datadog, Prometheus/Grafana, AWS CloudWatch, and GCP Monitoring
- Triage, validate, and troubleshoot real-time alerts to restore services promptly
- Serve as first point of contact for incidents to minimize service disruption
- Detect and eliminate false alerts by analyzing and refining monitoring configurations
- Take ownership of critical incidents (P1/P2), including leading incident response calls
- Collaborate with teams such as SRE, CloudOps, Networking, and Security for resolution
- Track incident progress from detection to resolution
- Escalate complex technical issues with detailed documentation and impact assessment
- Follow documented runbooks and standard operating procedures for incident response and routine tasks
- Help develop and enhance runbooks based on recurring operational patterns
- Conduct regular health checks on servers, network components, and failover systems
- Monitor system behavior during maintenance windows and confirm stability after changes
- Verify redundancy systems such as failover mechanisms and load balancers are operational
- Oversee backup jobs, batch processes, and scheduled tasks, addressing failures proactively
- Maintain precise incident records using ticketing platforms like Jira or ServiceNow
- Assist in generating daily and weekly reports on system health and performance
- Support root cause analysis and participate in post-incident reviews
- Detect and report potential security anomalies to dedicated security teams
