We are seeking an experienced Level 2 (L2) System Administrator with a strong background in both Linux and Windows environments. The ideal candidate will maintain system uptime, troubleshoot issues, and support production and enterprise systems while collaborating with L1 and L3 teams. What You'll Do
- Monitor and manage Windows and Linux servers (physical/virtual)
- Perform OS-level troubleshooting, including service failures, boot issues, and system performance
- Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and basic user administration
- Handle Linux-based services: Apache/Nginx, SSH, cron jobs, system logs, and user/group management
- Patch systems, update firmware, and maintain compliance with security policies
- Coordinate with L1 support and take ownership of escalated incidents/tickets
- Perform regular backups, restore procedures, and support disaster recovery plans
- Assist with automation tasks using PowerShell, Bash, or Python (basic scripting)
- Document SOPs, changes, and troubleshooting guides
- Ensure server and system health using tools like Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds, etc.
- Participate in on-call rotation and respond to incidents within SLA
What We're Looking For
- 3–5 years of experience in system administration roles
- Proficiency in Linux (Red Hat/CentOS/Ubuntu) and Windows Server (2016/2019/2022)
- Strong knowledge of command-line tools, shell scripting (Bash/PowerShell), and remote management tools
- Experience with virtualization platforms: VMware, Hyper-V, or similar
- Working knowledge of ITIL-based ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Jira, etc.)
- Ability to analyze logs and system reports for troubleshooting
- Good understanding of network protocols: TCP/IP, SSH, RDP, SMB, NFS
Nice to Have
- Certifications such as RHCSA, Microsoft MCSA/MCSE, CompTIA Linux+/Server+, or ITIL Foundation
- Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible, Puppet, or SCCM
- Awareness of cybersecurity and patch management practices
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus
