About the Role

The Network Engineer will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the organization's network infrastructure, ensuring reliability, security, and performance. This role involves both strategic planning and hands-on technical execution within a remote-first environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design and deploy enterprise-grade network solutions
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues
  • Implement and manage firewalls, routers, and switches
  • Ensure network security through proactive measures and policy enforcement
  • Support hybrid cloud environments and on-premises infrastructure
  • Maintain documentation for network configurations and changes
  • Respond to network outages and perform root cause analysis
  • Collaborate with IT teams to align network strategy with business goals
  • Configure and manage virtual private networks (VPNs)
  • Optimize network traffic and bandwidth utilization
  • Perform regular system audits and vulnerability assessments
  • Upgrade network hardware and firmware as needed
  • Integrate monitoring tools to track network health
  • Support disaster recovery and business continuity initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
  • Work with vendors to resolve technical issues
  • Plan and execute network capacity expansions
  • Implement Quality of Service (QoS) policies
  • Support IPv4 and IPv6 protocols
  • Manage DNS, DHCP, and IP address allocation
  • Deploy and maintain wireless network infrastructure
  • Participate in change management processes
  • Provide technical guidance during incident response
  • Assist in the evaluation of new networking technologies
  • Ensure secure remote access solutions for distributed teams
