About the Role
The Network Engineer will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing the organization's network infrastructure, ensuring reliability, security, and performance. This role involves both strategic planning and hands-on technical execution within a remote-first environment.
Responsibilities
- Design and deploy enterprise-grade network solutions
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues
- Implement and manage firewalls, routers, and switches
- Ensure network security through proactive measures and policy enforcement
- Support hybrid cloud environments and on-premises infrastructure
- Maintain documentation for network configurations and changes
- Respond to network outages and perform root cause analysis
- Collaborate with IT teams to align network strategy with business goals
- Configure and manage virtual private networks (VPNs)
- Optimize network traffic and bandwidth utilization
- Perform regular system audits and vulnerability assessments
- Upgrade network hardware and firmware as needed
- Integrate monitoring tools to track network health
- Support disaster recovery and business continuity initiatives
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
- Work with vendors to resolve technical issues
- Plan and execute network capacity expansions
- Implement Quality of Service (QoS) policies
- Support IPv4 and IPv6 protocols
- Manage DNS, DHCP, and IP address allocation
- Deploy and maintain wireless network infrastructure
- Participate in change management processes
- Provide technical guidance during incident response
- Assist in the evaluation of new networking technologies
- Ensure secure remote access solutions for distributed teams
