Verisk Analytics is looking for a .NET Senior Developer to architect, develop, and maintain advanced software solutions. This senior role requires technical expertise and leadership abilities, including mentoring team members, leading projects, and championing development best practices.
What You'll Do
- Architect, design, code, and test advanced software using the .NET platform, including C#, ASP.NET, and .NET Core.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to interpret requirements and translate them into technical specifications and robust architectures.
- Lead software development projects or sub-teams, managing timelines and deliverables.
- Foster an environment of collaboration and innovation, encouraging team members to contribute ideas.
- Implement coding standards, perform code reviews, and provide constructive feedback to ensure quality and maintainability.
- Guide and mentor junior and mid-level developers, helping them grow in their roles.
- Create and maintain documentation on processes, tools, and coding techniques.
- Develop automated unit and integration tests and troubleshoot issues in test and production environments.
- Support existing applications, optimize for performance and security, and implement enhancements.
- Work closely with developers, QA engineers, UI/UX designers, and product managers.
- Liaise with business stakeholders to gather requirements and communicate progress.
- Stay current with emerging .NET technologies and proactively recommend process and tool improvements.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of five years professional experience in .NET development with a proven track record.
- Advanced proficiency in C#, ASP.NET, .NET Core, Entity Framework, and LINQ.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and coding best practices.
- Proficient in database development with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or other relational databases.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to analyze complex technical issues.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, agile environment.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
Nice to Have
- Experience with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular, React, or Vue.js.
- Familiarity with RESTful API design, microservices architecture, and cloud platforms like Azure or AWS.
- Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
- Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with automated testing frameworks such as xUnit, NUnit, or Selenium.
- Exposure to enterprise-level software development, including distributed systems and high-availability solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical discussions, influence architectural decisions, and advocate for best practices.
