Accel Schools is hiring a Neo Lower - K-8th Grade Principal

Responsibilities

  • Guide the development and execution of instructional strategy, including curriculum integration, teacher coaching, data-informed instruction, and optimization of blended learning models where applicable.
  • Design and oversee school-wide academic programs, regularly reviewing curriculum, teaching methods, lesson plans, and classroom instruction to promote diverse, research-backed teaching strategies.
  • Ensure all students achieve at high levels through rigorous, engaging academic programs and effective classroom instruction.
  • Pursue continuous improvement in student performance and school climate, including progress toward state-defined academic benchmarks.
  • Support a standards-aligned curriculum by reviewing lesson plans weekly and conducting regular classroom observations and follow-up discussions.
  • Take ownership of student success in both academic achievement and social-emotional development.
  • Foster a professional environment centered on teacher growth and instructional excellence.
  • Shape and refine school culture initiatives and behavioral support systems with a focus on positive student conduct.
  • Collaborate with staff to organize team meetings, professional development days, and data review sessions.
  • Deliver ongoing, high-quality professional learning opportunities aligned with current research and best practices in education.
  • Enforce consistent behavior management strategies that promote respectful, orderly classrooms through positive teacher-student relationships.
  • Lead and supervise special education services, ensuring all students meet or exceed academic expectations.
  • Coordinate summer learning programs and extended-day academic offerings as needed.
  • Build a cohesive school community by nurturing collaborative relationships among staff, families, students, and partners.
  • Provide strong, collaborative leadership for all educators and staff, including supervision, coaching, and performance evaluation.
  • Manage the teacher evaluation process to advance professional growth and alignment with instructional best practices.
  • Conduct teacher assessments in compliance with the Ohio Teacher Evaluation System (OTES).
  • Oversee professional development initiatives to build a collaborative, skilled, and continuously improving staff.
  • Establish comprehensive student support systems that integrate academic, behavioral, and family engagement strategies.
  • Manage daily school operations, including facilities, technology, food services, data systems, assessments, budgeting, and enrollment.
  • Ensure full compliance with state and federal requirements in areas such as safety, data privacy, budgeting, and procurement.
  • Work with external service providers to streamline administrative functions and recommend operational improvements.
  • Partner with human resources to build a strong, diverse team through effective recruitment, hiring, retention, and recognition practices.
  • Uphold equitable hiring practices in accordance with Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) standards.
  • Collaborate with central support teams to meet reporting and compliance obligations for state, federal, and charter authorizing agencies, including charter renewal.
