MoonPay was looking for a MoonPay - Senior Machine Learning Data Engineer

MoonPay is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Data Engineer to build the robust data infrastructure that enables our machine learning initiatives. You will be responsible for architecting and maintaining the pipelines that feed data to production models.

What You'll Do

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable data pipelines for machine learning training and inference
  • Implement data processing systems to handle large-scale, complex datasets efficiently
  • Collaborate with data scientists and ML engineers to understand data requirements and optimize workflows
  • Ensure data quality, governance, and security standards are met throughout the ML data lifecycle
  • Monitor pipeline performance and implement improvements for cost, speed, and reliability

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of proven experience as a Data Engineer, with a focus on ML/data science pipelines
  • Deep expertise in distributed data processing frameworks (e.g., Spark, Flink, Beam) and workflow orchestration (e.g., Airflow, Dagster)
  • Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python and SQL
  • Extensive experience with cloud data services (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and data warehousing solutions
  • Solid understanding of ML concepts, model lifecycle, and the unique data needs of training and serving

Nice to Have

  • Experience with MLOps tools and platforms for model deployment and monitoring
  • Knowledge of real-time data streaming technologies (e.g., Kafka, Kinesis)
  • Background in a fintech, payments, or high-compliance industry
