Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain backend applications using Python or Node.js, TypeScript, and PostgreSQL.
- Build scalable backend services.
- Design and integrate REST APIs and third-party services.
- Work with Xano, Lovable, or other low-code/no-code tools when appropriate.
- Participate in technical planning, estimations, and architecture discussions.
- Write clean, maintainable, tested, and documented code.
- Review code and collaborate with other engineers.
- Troubleshoot issues across backend, databases, and integrations.
- Use AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and delivery.
- Take ownership of features from planning through production.
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional software development experience.
- Strong experience building backend applications and APIs with Python or Node.js.
- Good knowledge of PostgreSQL and relational database concepts.
- Solid understanding of software development fundamentals, clean code, design patterns, and scalable architecture.
- Experience with REST APIs, authentication, error handling, and integrations.
- Experience using Git and pull-request-based workflows.
- Ability to work across backend and database layers.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience with React and frontend development.
- Experience with Xano or similar backend low-code platforms.
- Experience using Lovable or AI-assisted application builders.
- Familiarity with low-code and no-code development.
- Experience integrating AI APIs, LLMs, or automation tools.
- Knowledge of Express, NestJS, Django, or FastAPI.
- Experience with Docker, cloud services, and CI/CD.
- Experience mentoring other developers or leading small technical initiatives.
