Work Arrangement

Hybrid — New York City, Mexico City

WHY THIS ROLE IS DIFFERENT

  • Fraud is treated as a strategic function rather than a cost center, with autonomy to assess and roadmap the entire fraud landscape.
  • End-to-end ownership of detection, mitigation, and operations for a lending business exceeding $500 million in annual GMV.
  • Focus on precision: challenging as few users as possible while maintaining accuracy.
  • Building the fraud operations function as an agent-operated system from the start.
  • Direct collaboration with the company founders.
  • Responsibility for implementing controls to prevent programmatic fraud attacks within six months.

WHY YOU SHOULD APPLY

  • Meaningful use of AI agents and progress toward self-improving feedback loops.
  • Self-sufficient analysis without need for technical validation.
  • Thorough review of user interfaces before deploying controls, with understanding of user experience.
  • Ability to lead during incidents, direct actions, and advocate based on evidence.
  • Strong interpersonal skills that aid in persuasion and collaboration.
  • Vigilance and proactive concern for emerging threat vectors evident in work.

WHY YOU SHOULD NOT APPLY

  • Preference for established fraud systems and playbooks; this role involves building from scratch.
  • Background limited to only fraud data science or operations; requires both strategic judgment and implementation skills.
  • Lack of experience or skepticism toward AI agents; the function will be agent-operated.
  • Disinclination to personally test user flows before control deployment.
  • Desire for a fully optimized environment; significant discovery and adjustment ongoing.
  • Inability to commit to 80% in-office presence in New York City or Mexico City.

ABOUT THE PROCESS

  • Initial discussion with the Hiring Manager.
