About the Role
The Medical Director oversees clinical operations, ensures adherence to medical protocols, and provides direct patient care. This role requires leadership in quality assurance, staff training, and compliance with healthcare regulations while maintaining an active clinical practice.
Responsibilities
- Lead clinical teams across multiple care sites
- Conduct regular patient evaluations and treatment planning
- Ensure compliance with state and federal healthcare regulations
- Oversee medical record accuracy and documentation standards
- Develop and implement clinical policies and procedures
- Supervise physician assistants and nurse practitioners
- Serve as primary liaison for medical quality audits
- Provide on-call coverage as required
- Lead staff education on clinical best practices
- Review and approve treatment protocols
- Monitor patient outcomes and adjust care models accordingly
- Collaborate with administrative leadership on operational improvements
- Ensure proper credentialing and licensing of clinical staff
- Conduct peer reviews and performance evaluations
- Support emergency preparedness planning
- Maintain current knowledge of medical advancements
- Participate in interdisciplinary care coordination
- Respond to patient safety incidents and near misses
- Advise on medical equipment and technology adoption
- Promote patient-centered care standards
Nice to Have

Work Schedule
- Part-time position requiring approximately 20 hours per week
- Schedule includes rotational shifts and occasional weekends
Travel Requirements
- Must travel between multiple clinical locations within the region
- Travel time is included in compensated hours
