About the Role
The selected candidate will perform both clinical and clerical duties to support healthcare providers and ensure smooth daily operations within a patient-centered medical practice.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and escort them to exam rooms
- Collect patient medical histories and vital signs
- Prepare patients for physician examinations
- Assist providers during medical procedures
- Administer medications and injections as directed
- Perform basic diagnostic tests such as EKGs and phlebotomy
- Maintain accurate electronic health records
- Schedule patient appointments and follow-ups
- Manage incoming calls and correspondence
- Coordinate referrals and prior authorizations
- Process insurance and billing information
- Stock and sanitize examination rooms
- Order and track medical and office supplies
- Support infection control protocols
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and patient privacy standards
- Assist with patient education materials
- Handle prescription refill requests
- Perform data entry with high accuracy
- Support quality improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with healthcare team members
- Respond to patient inquiries in a timely manner
- Maintain professional appearance and demeanor
- Adapt to changing priorities during the workday
- Follow safety procedures and emergency protocols
- Participate in staff meetings and trainings
