About the Role
The role involves providing expert knowledge and analytical support for Medicaid Enterprise Systems initiatives, ensuring alignment between technical teams and business stakeholders through clear requirements, process improvements, and strategic guidance.
Responsibilities
- Analyze business processes related to Medicaid systems to identify areas for improvement
- Translate stakeholder needs into functional and technical requirements
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure accurate implementation of system changes
- Support system integration efforts across multiple platforms and data sources
- Document workflows, business rules, and system specifications
- Facilitate meetings with clients and internal teams to gather and validate requirements
- Identify gaps in current system capabilities and recommend solutions
- Assist in testing activities including test planning, scenario development, and user acceptance support
- Ensure compliance with federal and state Medicaid regulations
- Provide subject matter expertise during system design and configuration phases
- Develop training materials and support user readiness efforts
- Track and manage requirements throughout the project lifecycle
- Conduct data analysis to support decision-making and system enhancements
- Work closely with technical architects and developers to clarify specifications
- Support change management processes for system updates and rollouts
- Maintain documentation in alignment with governance standards
- Assist in the development of project deliverables such as status reports and presentations
- Evaluate system performance and recommend optimization strategies
- Support audit readiness and documentation needs
- Coordinate with external vendors and contractors as needed
- Ensure consistency between business objectives and technical execution
- Participate in agile or iterative project delivery frameworks
- Contribute to risk assessments and mitigation planning
- Support transition from legacy systems to modern platforms
- Promote best practices in business analysis and systems implementation
Nice to Have
- Master’s degree in a relevant field
- Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) credential
- Experience with specific Medicaid Management Information Systems (MMIS)
- Knowledge of CMS guidelines and reporting requirements
- Prior consulting or advisory experience in public sector projects
