Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations, maintenance, and issue resolution for mission-critical cooling and mechanical infrastructure such as chillers, cooling towers, CRACs/CRAHs, CDUs, dry coolers, economizers, pumps, and piping networks; uphold strict adherence to safety protocols including lockout-tagout, confined space entry, and refrigerant handling during all tasks.
- Create, evaluate, and implement methods of procedure, emergency operating procedures, and administrative operating procedures for scheduled and unplanned mechanical maintenance; oversee third-party contractors and vendors performing on-site mechanical work.
- Observe building management systems to track cooling performance, respond to alarms, and monitor capacity; keep updated as-built drawings, P&IDs, and equipment logs after system changes; assist change control processes including risk evaluation and post-implementation reporting.
- Conduct engineering reviews of design packages and submittals for new facilities; lead technical solutions for retrofitting existing sites to expand capacity, enhance reliability, and boost energy efficiency.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical system failures; lead root cause investigations, perform engineering audits at owned or collocated data centers, and deliver risk assessments with corrective action plans.
- Serve as on-site engineering lead during construction and commissioning phases; collaborate with internal design, hardware, and environmental health and safety teams, providing procedural feedback, impromptu training, and critical incident support across multiple active projects and geographic areas.
