Responsibilities
- Reviews work orders or follows spoken directions to identify required materials for movement
- May handle printed sheets, folded signatures, labels, or other in-process items by feeding, removing, flexing, jogging, or stacking them to and from assigned equipment
- Manually loads and unloads materials onto and off pallets, trays, racks, and shelves
- May pack materials into trucks and secure them with strapping, bracing, or padding using hand tools to prevent damage during transport
- Transports materials from storage or work areas to specified locations using hand trucks, electric dollies, or similar equipment
- Counts, weighs, and logs the number of material units handled or moved on daily production records
- Applies identification tags or labels to materials or writes tracking details on containers such as cases or bales
- Stacks or groups materials into bundles and secures them with a banding machine and clincher
- May operate automated machinery or industrial trucks, including electric hoists, to support material handling tasks
