Responsibilities
- Develop and refine internal power market and dispatch modeling systems to improve the precision and scope of analytical offerings
- Collect, clean, and analyze large-scale, complex datasets that feed forecasting and optimization algorithms
- Conduct thorough validation and quality checks on published data and client-facing reports
- Explain the drivers behind forecast outputs, including regulatory changes, market structure shifts, and long-term power sector trends
- Focus on product usability to align forecasting tools with real-world customer requirements
- Collaborate with software developers to embed analytical models into the company's data platform
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in a quantitative discipline such as mathematics, engineering, computer science, physics, economics, or related field
- 3 to 5 years of professional experience in power market or energy system analysis
- Demonstrated ability to produce high-impact analytical content for external clients
- Direct experience modeling power systems or energy assets, including price forecasting, dispatch optimization, or real-time grid operations
- Knowledge of U.S. electricity markets, renewable technologies, market rules, and regulatory environments
- Strong coding skills in Python, including use of scientific computing libraries like NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, and scikit-learn
- Experience applying linear programming and optimization techniques
- Practical background working in cloud computing platforms such as AWS
- Proactive builder mindset with a history of leveraging AI tools to streamline analytical processes
Nice to Have
- Background in modeling energy storage systems or battery assets
- Understanding of FERC regulations, ISO/RTO operations, or capacity market mechanisms
- Experience embedding analytical models into interactive data products for clients

- Base salary range of $110,000–$170,000 annually, adjusted for experience level
