Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of up to eight engineers, cultivating a culture centered on growth, accountability, and mutual trust
- Ensure high operational standards by managing service level objectives, message deliverability, on-call processes, and balancing ongoing maintenance with new development
- Remain deeply involved in technical aspects, including system design, architectural input, reducing technical debt, and understanding service behavior under failure
- Support engineers' career progression by creating tailored development plans from early-career to senior levels and assist in advancing staff-plus individual contributors
- Share ownership of the team's backlog and roadmap with Product Management, providing technical insight to prioritize work and balance customer needs with system sustainability
- Work closely with cross-functional teams such as frontend development, Site Reliability Engineering, Security, and Data Platform, given the integrated nature of the services
