About the Role

This role is responsible for providing strategic and operational HR support to lawyers and leadership teams, focusing on talent development, performance management, and organizational effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver day-to-day HR guidance to legal staff and practice group leaders
  • Support performance review cycles and development planning
  • Partner with firm leaders to identify talent needs and succession plans
  • Assist in onboarding new legal hires and integrating them into the firm culture
  • Coordinate HR initiatives specific to lawyer populations across regions
  • Maintain accurate personnel records and HR databases for legal teams
  • Advise on employee relations matters involving attorneys
  • Collaborate with global HR teams to align programs and policies
  • Facilitate training programs tailored to legal professionals
  • Monitor compliance with internal HR policies among lawyer staff
  • Lead change management efforts within legal departments
  • Provide data and reporting to support HR decision-making for lawyers
  • Work with recruitment teams on lateral attorney hiring processes
  • Support diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives for legal teams
  • Manage HR aspects of lawyer promotions and compensation reviews
  • Address policy interpretation questions from legal personnel
  • Develop resources to improve manager effectiveness among partners
  • Track engagement and conduct climate surveys for legal groups
  • Ensure consistent application of HR practices across jurisdictions
  • Act as a point of contact for HR inquiries from attorneys
  • Help implement firm-wide HR projects with legal team involvement
  • Maintain confidentiality in all HR matters involving lawyers
  • Promote a culture of feedback and continuous improvement
  • Align HR strategy with business goals of legal practices
  • Resolve complex personnel issues involving senior legal staff
