Stripe is hiring a Manager, Global Sanctions

Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow regional teams of sanctions analysts and managers, ensuring high-quality investigations remain consistent and scalable
  • Define and manage the strategic vision for the global sanctions program, including screening scope, alert rules, escalation protocols, and quality controls
  • Advance the sanctions modernization plan by identifying bottlenecks in manual processes and legacy tools, then lead the move toward automated, intelligent detection systems
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering and Product teams as an equal partner, shaping tools based on sanctions needs, refining screening logic, and ensuring operational readiness for new features
  • Design all process and system updates with built-in auditability, transparency, and compliance readiness; guide the team through regulatory audits and supervisory reviews
  • Act as the primary point of escalation for high-complexity sanctions cases
  • Stay current with global sanctions regulations—including those from OFAC, EU, HMT, and the UN—and proactively convert regulatory updates into program adjustments before deadlines
  • Provide regular reporting to senior leaders on the effectiveness of the sanctions program, emerging risk patterns, and team performance metrics
