Responsibilities
- Design and execute strategies to identify, qualify, and cultivate donors capable of making major gifts ranging from $50,000 to $500,000, fostering connections through tailored communications, meetings, and engagement activities aligned with organizational policies and funding priorities.
- Direct the solicitation process for major gifts, creating customized proposals, presentations, and funding opportunities that match donor interests with organizational needs.
- Maintain an up-to-date understanding of the organization's mission, programs, activities, institutional requirements, and fundraising priorities.
- Collaborate with the prospect research team to uncover new major gift prospects and assess their philanthropic interests, giving capacity, and likelihood of supporting the organization.
- Finalize gift agreements and terms with donors in partnership with the Philanthropic Services team.
- Engage actively in Development team meetings to coordinate prospect evaluations and discuss tailored strategies for prioritized fundraising initiatives.
- Keep precise and current donor records in the CRM database, logging all interactions, proposals, and gift agreements related to major gifts according to established policies and procedures.
- Work collaboratively across departments to foster and sustain a culture of philanthropy throughout the organization.
- Act as a compelling and enthusiastic spokesperson and representative for the organization.
Requirements
- Substantial fundraising experience with a proven track record of soliciting and closing five-figure and six-figure gifts, including multi-year commitments.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Exceptional strategic thinking and analytical abilities, interpersonal skills, sound judgment, and experience managing highly confidential information.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the capacity to build rapport with diverse stakeholders, including high-net-worth individuals, colleagues, and senior executives.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with keen attention to detail and strong storytelling capabilities.
- Demonstrates a positive attitude, good judgment, common sense, and active listening skills; committed to transparency, accountability, and direct communication.
- Ability to anticipate and address the needs of multiple stakeholders simultaneously, both internally and externally, including individual donors and prospects.
- Outstanding organizational skills with the ability to complete projects on time while meeting strict deadlines.
- Prior experience with fundraising databases (Salesforce), Microsoft Office applications, and online collaboration tools.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve goals.
- Capable of navigating and thriving within a complex organizational structure.

- Experience in a national organization with an affiliate or chapter structure is advantageous.
