Responsibilities
- Assess plant equipment to identify opportunities for improving availability, capability, and yield.
- Analyze trends to detect systemic maintenance needs across the plant.
- Lead projects to implement large-scale plant maintenance programs.
- Collaborate with vendors to procure maintenance support and manage the vendor selection process.
- Work with plant and corporate leadership to understand reporting requirements and create reports on plant capacity, yield, and maintenance activities.
- Communicate maintenance themes and trends to leadership and executives as needed.
- Maintain accurate plant maintenance records in relevant technological systems.
- Conduct MSHA pre-shift safety inspections of equipment and work areas.
- Prioritize safety first, followed by quality and production.
- Maximize equipment performance through preventive maintenance and timely repairs as per the Maintenance Module.
- Inspect, repair, and replace pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, and screens to reduce downtime.
- Operate cranes, man-lifts, welding and cutting tools, and other specialty equipment as required.
- Perform fabrication, erection, and repair of processing and mobile equipment.
- Ensure the maintenance backlog is reviewed and prioritized with the Supervisor or Plant Manager.
- Complete all required paperwork to maintain equipment according to company standards.
- Train and coach employees on maintenance best practices, serving as a technical leader in the plant.
- Take on additional tasks and assignments as needed, including duties outside the typical scope, to support overall team operations and organizational needs.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
- 4+ years of related experience in Heavy-Duty or Aggregate Plant Maintenance preferred.
- Equipment analysis and general repair concepts.

- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. for plant maintenance and equipment servicing.
- Required to bend, stoop, climb, and reach.
- Must maintain three points of contact when climbing on or off machinery or ladders.
- Strong hand-eye-foot coordination is essential for operating hand and foot controls.
- Must have good depth perception with or without visual aids for distances up to 150 feet.
- All duties require outdoor assignments and periods of work in all weather conditions, including cold, wet, dry, and dusty environments.
- Must be able to work in areas where noise levels reach up to 85 decibels.
