SailPoint is hiring a Mainframe Systems Programmer for our Connectivity team. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality, robust code for mainframe systems, collaborating effectively with global teams across different time zones. Success in this role requires strong self-discipline and time management.
What You'll Do
- Deliver efficient, maintainable, and robust code for mainframe systems.
- Produce designs and estimates, then implement features based on product requirements.
- Collaborate with peers across time zones on designs, code reviews, and testing.
- Produce unit and end-to-end tests to improve quality and maximize code coverage.
- Be a fast learner, self-directed, and flexible to work on new and legacy technologies.
- Prototype and co-implement systems alongside less experienced engineers.
- Share support of critical team systems, including participating in on-call rotations and system improvements.
- Serve as a debugging and implementation expert during escalations.
- Collaborate with Support and Engineering Management for quick resolution of issues.
What We're Looking For
- Strong experience designing and implementing mainframe system software in an IBM z/OS environment.
- Strong knowledge of programming in C on z/OS.
- Good knowledge of diagnostics, debugging, and troubleshooting for mainframe applications.
- Proficiency with problem determination, analysis, and resolution.
- Experience managing source code with Git or another version control system.
Nice to Have
- Good knowledge of Assembler, JCL, and REXX.
- Knowledge of IBM z/OS security systems like RACF, ACF2, or Top Secret.
- Exposure to Java.
- Good knowledge of build and test automation.
- Exposure to Mainframe modernization.
