Responsibilities
- Interpret and follow detailed machining blueprints accurately.
- Create basic machining programs for various machine controllers.
- Operate and set up advanced machinery including Haas Mill, Tiger Cut Mill, Mori Seiki Lathe & Mill, and manual machines.
- Monitor machine performance to identify issues and adjust controls and offsets independently.
- Conduct regular in-process and final inspections to verify dimensional accuracy and tolerances.
- Complete all required documentation in accordance with established procedures.
- Keep the work area clean, orderly, and compliant with safety regulations.
- Track time spent on jobs to ensure alignment with estimated labor hours.
- Perform additional tasks as directed by supervisors.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education.
- Possession of a machining technical certificate with 0–3 years of experience, or 2–5 years of hands-on machining experience in manufacturing.
- Capability to perform basic machine setups and interpret tooling lists, blueprints, and production diagrams.
- Proficiency in using standard measuring instruments to verify part conformance.
- Strong skills in reading blueprints and understanding geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Ability to convert between decimal and fractional measurements.
- Competence in performing arithmetic operations with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals across measurement systems.
- Knowledge of fundamental trigonometry and geometry principles.
- Ability to understand and follow detailed written or verbal instructions using practical judgment.
