About the Role
The role involves designing, training, and deploying machine learning models, primarily in computer vision, to analyze underwater imagery and support decision-making in fish farming operations.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement machine learning models for image analysis
- Train models using large-scale underwater video datasets
- Optimize model performance for accuracy and inference speed
- Collaborate with software engineers to integrate models into production systems
- Monitor and maintain deployed models in live environments
- Improve data labeling pipelines and annotation quality
- Work with operations teams to understand real-world use cases
- Evaluate model outputs against biological and operational metrics
- Iterate on models based on field feedback
- Develop tools for model testing and validation
- Contribute to data infrastructure for model training
- Support edge deployment of models on on-site hardware
- Troubleshoot model performance issues in production
- Assist in defining model versioning and rollback strategies
- Participate in code reviews and system design discussions
Nice to Have
- Master’s or PhD in relevant technical field
- Published work in machine learning or computer vision
- Experience with underwater imaging systems
- Background in aquaculture or fisheries science
- Familiarity with time-series data analysis
- Experience with edge computing devices
- Knowledge of fish biology or animal behavior
