About the Role

The role involves designing, training, and deploying machine learning models, primarily in computer vision, to analyze underwater imagery and support decision-making in fish farming operations.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement machine learning models for image analysis
  • Train models using large-scale underwater video datasets
  • Optimize model performance for accuracy and inference speed
  • Collaborate with software engineers to integrate models into production systems
  • Monitor and maintain deployed models in live environments
  • Improve data labeling pipelines and annotation quality
  • Work with operations teams to understand real-world use cases
  • Evaluate model outputs against biological and operational metrics
  • Iterate on models based on field feedback
  • Develop tools for model testing and validation
  • Contribute to data infrastructure for model training
  • Support edge deployment of models on on-site hardware
  • Troubleshoot model performance issues in production
  • Assist in defining model versioning and rollback strategies
  • Participate in code reviews and system design discussions

Nice to Have

  • Master’s or PhD in relevant technical field
  • Published work in machine learning or computer vision
  • Experience with underwater imaging systems
  • Background in aquaculture or fisheries science
  • Familiarity with time-series data analysis
